Time for the highlight of the cruise – Glacier Bay National Park. Very few vessels are allowed access into the National Park, so it is quite a treat.
I was outside at 6:30 AM with all my camera gear, four layers of clothing and I was still freezing because even though we were inside the National Park the Captain was cruising at 20 knots into a headwind.
About 7 AM the first mountains appeared. The National Park rangers were onboard, but the outside PA system was not loud enough to hear anything where I was standing.
The day was very clear and beautiful. It was a spectacular day.

At 9:30 AM the ship arrived at Marjorie Glacier. The captain got us close and then rotated the ship to the other side.
There was some scenic cruising to get to John Hopkins Glacier
Around 12:30 PM we arrived at John Hopkins Glacier.
It was time to enjoy the scenic cruising out of Glacier Bay. It was as a much more pleasant speed than the entry. Oh and I got a colortini.
On the way out there were a bunch of cute, furry sea otters just floating in the water.
I had dinner tonight in the main dining room as I don’t have infinite vouchers for specialty dining.
For my starters I had the bruschetta and the French onion soup.
I tried the sauteed chimichurri beef for my main. The seasoning was good, but it was a bit tough to chew.
And of course I left room for dessert… I decided to go with the warm banana souffle.
