Today the ship arrived a few miles from the shore of Progreso, Mexico. Yes, the pier is that long (nearly 4 miles) and requires a bus to go beyond the tourist trap souvenir shops. Maybe you can see the coast in the picture below. You might have to use your imagination…

I started my day by going to the Marvel characters at 8 AM.
The first character I met was Spider-Man.

The next one was the Black Panther… he flew all the way from Wakanda to be on the ship.

The last Marvel superhero was Iron Man.

I got off the ship to take a few pictures of the ship.

Goofy was busy painting…

There weren’t any interesting clouds today to make a time-lapse video.
I got back onboard to meet Quill and Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Although most people went ashore I decided to stay on the ship and enjoy the activities as well as relax.
I found a place where you could see the outside part of the bridge. It was not normal to me that the wing of the bridge was actually outside. You can also see the windows in the floor so they can see how close they are to the pier.

The ship was backed in, so I got a nice picture of the bow with its Mickey Mouse sunlight, the ocean and a tug boat.

The Royal Gathering was taking place in the atrium. They had Cinderella, Belle and Ariel. I wasn’t able to book a time for it, but I can live without pictures of me with the Princesses.

I sat in a porthole in the adult-only area for a bit to enjoy the view with air conditioning. The crew was spraying the windows clean, and I got a cool video with the water running down and eventually the port appearing.

I got a couple of pictures of Keys, the piano bar. It’s much brighter during the day with the light coming in through the windows.

I also took a couple of pictures in O’Gills pub.

Back in the atrium I got a picture of the statue of Mickey Mouse.

I got a picture of the Marvel Day at Sea sign as well.

Upstairs, I took a picture of the soda fountains (free) and got myself a Coke Zero.

The crew was always busy cleaning and painting. The ship was in really good condition considering how old it was.

I took a couple of pictures of the Build-a-Bowl and sandwich food options on the pool deck.

I was hungry, so I went to Cabanas for lunch. The first picture is the entrance to Cabanas.

The first section is the kids food – Mac and Cheese and Chicken Nuggets…

I took quite a few pictures of the available food…

I got beef tenderloin and a chicken pot pie. It was hard to resist the chicken pot pie with the flaky crust.

They had real ice cream and some cookies, so I attempted to make my own ice cream sandwich…

I decided today was a good day to attempt the water slide. It was warm and sunny, so it was a perfect day, especially since many people were exploring Mexico. The floor of the slide drops. It’s a pretty quick ride, and even though it’s clear you don’t really see much.

Time to enjoy a cold beer. They had a really good wheat beer on tap from Galveston. I turned in my beer mug token for a beer. Because I was on the pool deck the mug was plastic, but wen I finish I will trade it back in for the beer mug token.

Next I went to the O’Gills pub where they had an origami class. We made a bench (could also be a piano if you drew black keys on it), a heart and a bear.

I took a picture of the snowflake backdrop. It’s pretty neat with all the hidden Mickey Mouses, the whole pattern also seems to make out a large Mickey Mouse. I didn’t notice the large one until after I took the picture.

Overlapping the origami class was a family activity to make 3D masks in Soul Cat Lounge. They have me a variety of masks to cut out. Iron Man, Hulk, etc.

The sun was starting to set before we left Progreso. I took some sunset photos.

It was now time to go to the theater for the show. Tonight’s show was Twice Charmed, which was a funny version of Cinderella which added a wicked fairy godfather. It was a comical adaptation.

I stopped back in my room for a minute before dinner. Tonight’s towel animal was Dumbo…. or at least an elephant.

They also dropped off the envelopes and vouchers in my cabin to give the crew for their gratuities.

Tonight was the character dining event in Rapunzel’s Royal Table. We were greated by one of the characters at the entrance.

We were a bit away from the stage, but could still see and hear everything. You want to get there early so you can face the stage. Your table number is set, so there is very little chaos. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the lights are made to look like floating lanterns.

I took a picture of the glasses and plates.

The menu had a picture with the floating lanterns.

One of the characters came around to talk to us.

The fake dessert cart came around.

Today’s bread slection.

They had a small show – it was not an hour like the theater show, but the characters also have to walk around to all the tables as well.

Rapunzel came and talked to our table

My appetizers came… I decided to try the Snuggly Duckling Platter and the Ahi Tuna Tartar.

The show continued a bit more.

I got the prime rib for my main, but the Flynn Rider Platter also sounded really good.

One of my tablemates ordered the Tangled Pasta, and I took a picture of it.

The male lead arrived at our table. One of my tablemates asked what was in his satchel. It was a good conversation.

Dessert time! I couldn’t decide again, so I tried the fry pan sweet bread and the birthday cupcake sunday.

This was the signature dessert, Gothel Blackforest Tower

For the finale the waiters came around with floating lanterns while there was some more singing.

Mickey was working late tonight, meeting guests and taking pictures.

I relaxed in the piano bar until for a while before calling it a night.
