The ship arrived in Galveston around 1 AM, a bit earlier than scheduled due to an imminent winter storm.
The weather was cold, foggy and damp. I looked out on the balcony briefly and saw the Harmony of the Seas already docked at it’s pier. The turning basin for all the ships is right next to the Royal Caribbean cruise terminal.

After packing my suitcase, I took a brief nap so I could wake up early enough to get out of the cabin. We had to leave the cabin by 8 AM.
Before leaving the cabin in the morning I took a picture of the map showing the path the ship took.

Yeah, the map is old and still shows Gulf of Mexico and not Gulf of America.
I also took a picture of the laundry bag and price list since I hadn’t done that yet… Keep in mind you can also do your own laundry.

Time to brave the cold. It wasn’t freezing, but it wasn’t much warmer either.
All the ships seemed ot be in Galveston today… Royal Caribbean, MSC and Princess. I took a few photos from my balcony.

I got braver to take a better picture of the Princess ship and went up to deck 10.

Lucky me, I got a great photo of this pelican. I am sure he’s not too happy about the dreary weather.

The procedure on Disney Cruise Line is a bit abnormal for me. First you have to leave the stateroom by 8 AM – that part is normal. However there is no breakfast buffet or room service; you have to eat breakfast in your dining room from the previous evening – with all your carry on luggage.
I’m not a breakfast person, so I just skipped breakfast and walked off the ship.
I didn’t need to wait for my red Mickey luggage tag to be called because I didn’t want to pack early enough to set it out. For me it is easier to walk off with it, and of course with it being my first Disney cruise my suitcase would be last to be ready.
I took a couple of pictures of the atrium – so many Mickey Mouse ears hidden. And the stiarcase art is also very nice.

It was a very short line to get off the ship, one tap of my MagicBand+ and I was back to reality.
After walking through the maze in the cruise terminal I went through the camera for immigration and was off to the parking shuttle.
It wasn’t madness as I expected. I got right on an empty shuttle. Just a minute after I got on the shuttle there was a brief downpour, so I was relieved I didn’t linger.
The parking lot is very close, so it only took a few minutes. I loaded up and drove home. Luckily there was no ice on the roads as when I drove further north towards Houston it got colder.
