After a long journey I finally arrived on South Africa. My flights were:
United 44 from Houston to Washington DC (Dulles) = 2.5 hours.
South African Airways 210 from Washington DC to Johannesburg (with a stop in Accra, Ghana) about 9 hours for the first section and 6 hours for the next. Then after immigration and customs South African Airways 367 to Cape Town (2 hours)
When I arrived in Cape Town we found the person holding the tablet with the Gate 1 Travel logo. The transfer driver was wearing a suit and the vehicle was a nice Mercedes minivan.
There wasn’t much to see on the drive because it was dark. We checked in and luckily I called earlier to hold an adapter for me to charge things. I found out in the Johannesburg airport that the adapters I bought in Lulu in Oman were not useful despite the package saying South Africa. There were other types of outlets that I did have adapters for (plus my multiple outlet surge protector).
The hotel seems nice so far. There was a board with information on it.
They also left a note in the room with some information.
