I arrived at the airport 2 hours before the flight. No queues for checking in, but a considerable queue for Pre-Check (security). I found the United Club lounge was conveniently located across the aisle from my departure gate. Inconveniently the lounge didn’t open until 07:30 (my scheduled departure time) so I went to the next terminal. The lounge was open, but no alcohol before 07:00 due to Texas laws. I got a few danishes and some juice and was able to charge my phone and print some documents.
First flight is more backwards. I was in Qatar 2 days ago and flew to Houston. Now I’m flying to Toronto before flying to Beijing. At least I’m not on United.
The flight to Toronto now is delayed 20 minutes and the weather outside is not very pleasant (rain, low visibility, can’t tell if there is a ceiling).
I enjoyed some adult beverages and pizza in the “Air Canada Salon” before heading to my gate. Luckily due to my status with United I had boarding group #2 which allowed me on the plane fairly early. I attempted to get a row to myself in the back and it backfired on me. At least I have an aisle seat.
The picture below is of the 777-300ER I’m on before the majority of the passengers boarded.
