This morning the ship arrived in Chan May. I was a bit disappointed how small and desolate the area was.
I packed my bag of laundry. Because I’m Platinum I don’t have to pay the $19.95
I had a tour from the ship to the Imperial City of Hue.
The bus ride was over an hour. Once we arrived we stopped at an incense shop to use their bathroom, which wasn’t that impressive. 20 minutes wasted at that location.
The next stop was the tomb of one of the kings. The buildings and landscaping was very nice.
I bought a can of iced tea for $1 (I negotiated down from $2 by walking away), because the tour didn’t include water or food and it was quite warm.
The next stop was the Citadel at the Imperial Palace. We only had an hour to visit, but it was nice.
After the citadel we boarded the bus for lunch. The tour guide said we could try local food… Then she tried to herd all of us into an expensive, fancy hotel restaurant. I asked where to find local food and she wasn’t that helpful. I walked around the corner and found other restaurants. One cafe sold Banh Mi for only 20,000 VND (less than $1). The Banh Mi was delicious and filling.
After lunch we drove to the Pagoda and only had 15 minutes to spend at the Pagoda.
On the way back we saw many more buffalo and people working in the fields
The bus arrived at 4:50 PM, all aboard was supposed to be 4:30 PM. No worries on time, since the ship waits for their own tours.
I had dinner in Alizar tonight. I had a Cesar Salad for my starter sirloin steak with chimichurri and the pavlova with lemon sorbet for dessert.
I somehow managed to stay awake for the glow party.
