This morning I arrived in Cambodia for the first time. The ship arrived on time, around 9:00 AM.

I got the first shuttle bus to the port gate. We were instantly mobbed by locals with taxis looking for passengers. I quickly found my tour guide and was told there were 4 more passengers on my tour. After about 40 minutes the other 4 passengers arrived, but apparently they had booked the tour as a private tour. We eventually left and they were very nice people

The first stop was a small fishing village. We were able to see a few of the small fishing boats and someone chipping ice from blocks (with a machine) to preserve the fresh fish.

The next stop was the Independence monument. Road construction was ongoing everywhere in town.

The next stop was the lower Wat. The monks had sat down for lunch, apparently they only eat once a day and tea for breakfast. One of the buildings was under construction and the artist was making the 3D wall paintings.

We stopped briefly at a nice and empty beach.

A brief visit to the market was next. I was surprised to see snails, but apparently it was the influence of the French since it was one of their colonies.

The next stop was a bumpy ride to the waterfall. It was small, but nice. The sound of the waterfall was relaxing.

Finally we stopped at the upper Wat. It was quite nice as well.

We headed back to the ship and I had lunch at the buffet as well as a few cocktails.

I had dinner tonight at Cagney’s.

I decided to try the chicken wings at O’Sheehans
