I woke up early this morning and looked out the window to find thick fog. I decided to sleep a little longer. I woke up to the bow thrusters (vibration) when the ship arrived in port (early).
It was still fairly foggy and I didn’t get a chance to record a time lapse video of the arrival, however it wasn’t as interesting as the other ports, especially with the fog.

I ate some Frosted Flakes for breakfast. I took a few more pictures after breakfast.

A new towel animal appeared in my cabin.

My tour has a meeting time of 10:45 AM, so I have time to get organized this morning. The weather is significantly warmer than Iceland, my phone says 58 F, which is still chilly, but feels like summer compared to Iceland.

I went to the meeting point at 10:30 AM and got my sticker. I immediately went to get on a tender so I could do some exploring in town.
I walked over and took a picture of the old town hall.

I decided to walk over to TESCO and buy some adult beverages. I got a 750 ml of Cabernet Sauvignon and a 750 ml of Malbec to enjoy during the rest of the cruise. It cost a total of 12 pounds sterling for both.

I walked back to the pier so I could be there at 11:30 AM as I wanted to be a few minutes early. The rest of the group was already walking on the bus when I got there, so I am glad I didn’t wander around too much longer.

The bus drove by the castle, but not very close. I took some photos as the bus left the pier and started to our first destination. In one area you could see where the peat was harvested from the land (dark straight line).

The guide passed around some information about peat.

The first stop was the Callanais Standing Stones. It was a very interesting area, with a small stone circle and a row of stones making a pathway.

I went inside the small museum briefly.

I took some more photos from the bus on the way to the next stop.

They drove by another location, Dun Carloway Broch, but we didn’t have time to explore, or get off the bus.

A couple of more photos from the bus ride…

The final stop was the Gearrannan blackhouse village. There was a very small museum (so small it was hard to fit the bus in the museum). And one old man sang a couple of songs, one in English and one in Gaelic. The buildings were very nice looking with the thatched roof and the sea in the background. The fireplace was burning peat.

On the way back there was a lot of scenery including a huge whale jaw bone and the spear that was used to catch the whale. I tried taking a picture of the castle in town, although there were big tents from a festival that was held over the weekend.

The bus arrived 15 minutes after the last scheduled tender, However there was a massive queue. It took about 40 minutes to get on a tender, but at least the weather was nice.

I set up my GoPro cameras to take a time lapse video of the departure as the weather was much nicer than this morning.
I went to Guy’s Burger Joint for another Funderstruck Nacho Burger. It was still delicious.

I went to dinner at the main dining room. It was apparently Italian night. I tried the wedding soup and nonna’s meat balls for my starter. For my main I had the chicken parmesan. I tried the apple crostata and the lemon frozen torte for the dessert.

Sunset came much earlier tonight, around 10 PM. I tried to get a picture with my phone, but it didn’t really come out very good.

Today’s timeline:

Wonderful, I will book cruise to visit here!!!❤️
