This morning I woke up early to get an early tender ticket. I got in the line around 6:20 AM while they were going to start giving them out at 6:45 AM. They apparently started with zone 7, I got zone 9.

I had frozen yogurt for breakfast, it was a no bacon morning on the ship, so I didn’t get a breakfast burrito.
A couple of pictures from the ship this morning.

Since the ship arrived a bit early I thought maybe the tenders would start running early as well, so I sat downstairs about 7:30 AM to wait. By the time tender 9 was called it was 9:51 AM (arrival time was 8 AM, zone 1 tender was called at 8:18 AM).
I quickly got off the tender and walked / jogged as much as I could to get to the train station for the 10:41 AM train to get to the Conwy Castle. As I got to the train station I watched the train leave. I was just one minute short of making the train.

After cooling down for about 10 minutes I decided to walk around town as the next train wouldn’t be departing until 11:33 AM.

I walked over to the Roman Fort and the St Cybi’s Church. It was pretty interesting. They did have a service going, so I couldn’t go in just yet. I did take some pictures of the outside.

I got back to the train station at about 11:20 AM and the train was there, however for some reason I decided to check the status of the return trains. The return train status looked horrible. The earlier return at 1:01 PM was significantly late as were others. Knowing the train station is a good 30 minute hurried walk back and the last water shuttle is supposed to be at 3:15 PM I decided it wasn’t worth the stress to take a train an hour each way, walk 15-20 minutes to the castle and take photos for maybe 20-30 minutes from the outside.

I walked over to a Skinner’s Monument near the train station, it took me a bit to find the way up to it was Google Maps was wrong. It had a nice view of the town, but the ship was blocked by the ferries.

I took some pictures along the way back to the church.

I was able to visit the inside of the church this time. There were a couple of interesting things, an old flag and a pipe organ. Other than that it was mostly boring, but at least it was free.

I walked over to the library which must be closed on Wednesdays. At least the outside of the building was interesting.

I continued walking back to the ship along the shore as I took a different route to the train station in the morning.

Near the pier was a maritime museum. I took some pictures of the buoys on the outside.

A few more photos while I was walking to the pier.

I managed to get on the first tender that showed up, it was about 1:50 PM when it arrived.
After I got back on the ship the first stop I made was to Guy’s Burger Joint to get another Funderstruck Nacho Burger. It was delicious as usual.

Here’s today towel animal:

I checked the status of the trains – the 1:01 PM train was 1 hour and 15 minutes late. It was supposed to arrive at 1:46 PM, which means it actually arrived around 3 PM…. not enough time to run to the ship. The 1:24 PM train I was planning to take back was about 30 minutes late and it was supposed to arrive 2:19 PM, which puts it’s arrival pretty close to 3 PM as well. Definitely not good when the last tender is supposed to be at 3:15 PM…
The pilot arrived on the ship at around 4:20 PM. Hopefully they gave him some food. The ship didn’t even leave port until 5:45 PM. We literally saw a Dublin Fast Ferry arrive, unload, reload and depart before the ship could put away the tenders.

I took a couple of pictures in the Butterflies lounge when it was empty, just to show how tacky some of the decor was.

About 5:50 PM the ship was finally ready to leave. In fact the Irish fast ferry that arrived when the pilot arrived (an hour after the last tender) was also ready to leave. Yes, a ferry arrived, docked, unloaded and loaded back up in the time it took our ship to get it’s act together and load up the tenders. I took a few photos of the scenery as the ship left.

It was formal night again, which means better food. I had dinner in the main dining room. I had a Caesar Salad for my starter, the filet mignon for the main and Grand Marnier Soufflé for dessert. The filet mignon was very good and tender.

I went to both of the comedy shows. The new comedian was hilarious. We told the story about missing the cruise ship in Taiwan. It was a great story.
After the comedy shows I went up to the pirate for some more pizza. I had them throw some prosciutto on it because I love prosciutto.
