After a short nap I woke up and took the metro to Place Espagna to catch Aerobus A1 to the airport. I got on the Aerobus at 0705. I think it is silly that Barcelona spent all kinds of money finally getting the metro to connect to the city and the metro is slower than the bus. The bus arrived at 0720 – a few minutes before the check in counter opened.
At the check in counter we played 20 questions…How long have I been in Barcelona, where did I come from, and what did I do there…
The airport lounge had some deli meat (chorizio and ham).
The plane was a Boeing 767, I had an economy plus seat which is nice. There were a few new movies. Their meal looked more like dog food than human food. At least there seemed to be more chicken in it this time. The turkey sandwich before landing was actually edible.
I didn’t have any problems going through immigration, customs or security in Newark. The airport lounge is under renovation, so it is a bit crowded.
I wasn’t upgraded on the flight to Houston from Newark. The flight was on time and I did at least get a free snack box for being 1K with United.
