Today we docked in Strasbourg, France. We got on the bus at 9 AM for the tour. They took us by bus for a panoramic tour and dropped us in the city for a walking tour. The walking tour took us to the most scenic areas of the city. We entered the Cathedral and watched the atomic clock chime for the half past the hour. The atomic clock is set to Strasbourg time which in the past was earlier than Paris. We had about 50 minutes of free time to explore on our own before meeting up to take the bus back to the ship for lunch.
After lunch we took the tram (the system in France is a disaster of massive proportions). Needless to say the tram system did not work as well as the systems in Switzerland – which you could set your watch to. We eventually got back to the Cathedral and walked up to the viewing platform 332 steps up. The view along the way was maybe more interesting than from the viewing platform. I took a few interesting pictures of the church and area while walking up or down the steps.
After coming back down we walked a little more through the historic district and took the tram back to the ship for dinner.
Dinner was excellent. I had the duck breast. For dessert I had the Crepe Suzette.
