This morning I arrived in London from Dubai. My flight arrived on time, 0625 AM. After going through immigration I ditched most of my luggage at the luggage storage place at Terminal 5 in Heathrow. I went to the British Airways arrival lounge and took a shower, which is nice when spending the night in an aluminum tube.
I took bus #10 (5 pounds sterling) to Windsor Castle. The bus only leaves every 90 minutes, so I did have to wait a bit (I took advantage of the time to buy a Heathrow Express ticket and lunch). The weather was amazing for March. Beautiful blue sky with some white friendly and puffy clouds. Unfortunately you aren’t allowed to take photos inside the Castle or the church, but I was able to get a few nice photos from outside.
I took bus #703 (4 pounds sterling) back to Heathrow Terminal 5. I was starving so I had dinner at the airport.
I took the Heathrow Express to Paddington station, the tube to King’s Cross and then LNER up to Lincoln, which was a much more pleasant experience than switching at Newark North Gate to a boxcar with an engine. The train ride between London King’s Cross and Lincoln was only 2 hours.
I stayed at the Doubletree hotel in Lincoln. It was much nicer than the Holiday Inn.
