This morning I woke up early to catch the sunrise.

I took a walk along the beach and down the pier near the hotel.

I decided to visit the Village of Baytowne Wharf as they were having a gumbo festival. Along the way I stopped at Henderson Beach to spend some time relaxing.

Because there were so many people at the Village of Baytowne Wharf I had to park in a remote lot and take a shuttle. Upon arriving it appeared to be a fancy and expensive shopping area.

The fee to taste the gumbo was a bit excessive, so I bought a snow cone and had gumbo at a restaurant with some live music much cheaper than the fee for sampling gumbo.

I wanted to take some sunset photos, but I forgot my tripod mount. As it was clear that I wouldn’t make it back to the hotel before the sunset I pulled into Henderson Beach to watch the sunset.

After making a stop at Walmart for water and after sun lotion I enlisted Google Maps to find someplace to eat dinner. With luck I found a wonderful place nearby that was not only brand new, had reasonable prices and had wonderful food.
