This morning I went to Ho’omaluhia Botanical Gardens. I arrived shortly after it opened at 9 AM. I didn’t expect to spend too much time there, but with all the hiking paths and scenic views I didn’t leave until 2:30 PM.
There was a large variety of tress, hundreds of fish in the lake and even mongooses. The mongooses didn’t let me get too close to get a good photo.

My only disappointment is that they installed an electrical substation in the park and have high voltage power lines in scenery where you would like to take photos.

After leaving the botanical gardens I found a quiet, empty parking lot nearby to launch my drone since flying isn’t allowed in the parks. The views were impressive.

I returned to Waikiki and went snorkeling at the beach. There weren’t too many fish there, and the beach was sandy. There is another area where there is supposed to be more fish, so I might try that another day.
After watching the sunset I had dinner at Tim Ho Wan… something I stumbled upon yesterday. It’s a great place I found out about in Hong Kong. The BBQ pork buns were fantastic. They looked almost identical to the ones I got in Hong Kong (I found the picture on my phone just as they arrived to my table).
