This morning I started the day by visiting the Sea Turtle Rescue Center across the street from my hotel.
They have a few sea turtles they keep on display permanently and a few they rehabilitate and release to the wild. They also have a theater where they talk about what they do.

For lunch I went to the Meatball Cafe. The food was really good.

At The Meatball Cafe our prime goal is to bring the magical experience of a hot, fresh, steaming authentic homemade Italian meal right to your table.

After lunch I drove north to the end of the road. Nothing too interesting at the end of the road, just more beach.

I went back to the hotel and spent some more time on the beach enjoying the ocean. At sunset I went back top the Laguna Madre Nature Trail for the sunset. There actually was a very nice sunset and a rainbow.
Laguna Madre Nature Trail – South Padre Island
This 1,500-foot boardwalk crosses four acres of marshland, where bird watchers can spot many coastal and migratory birds and numerous others tempted by the berries on the fiddlewood bushes along the trail.

I tried the Ahi Poke at the hotel, but it was less than exciting.
