The adventure begins very early this morning. I left the house just after 3 AM.
I made a reservation at the Parking Spot yesterday, I had to drive around the bus to get to a parking spot so they would pick me up without having to wait for the next bus.

It didn’t take too long to get the boarding pass and to get through TSA. Soon I was sitting in my business class seat for the short trip to Miami.
They actually did serve some food in business class – a small turkey sandwich. It was actually pretty good.
I took a couple of pictures while arriving in Miami.
For the next flight even though it was a huge 777 I did not get upgraded, mostly because it is a flight between two American Airlines hubs. I did however have a bulkhead seat with additional legroom, but you can see the meal service is pretty pitiful (very small snack).

Upon arriving in Boston there was a big neon American Airlines sign I took a picture of.

The hotel, Renaissance Boston Waterfront hotel was not far from the airport and one of my apps said it was only a couple of stops away (1st one from the airport) by a free bus. I found a sign for the bus, but didn’t find any ticket machines.

The bus actually did say “Free” when it arrived a few minutes later. I had expected the bus to go over the water with a bridge, but it was a boring tunnel.
I could easily see the hotel from the World Trade Center bus stop where I got off the bus. It was a very short walk and I had already checked in with the mobile app, so I didn’t need to stop by the front desk. The view from the hotel was a lot of roof, but other than that the room was large and nice.

After a short break I ventured out to buy a 7 day metro ticket. It’s only $22.50 while a 1 day pass is $12.75, so even though I won’t be visiting for a full week the 7 day pass is worth purchasing.

I took a picture of the painted staircase by the World Trade Center station.

Since it was getting late in the day I decided to walk towards Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall as they were open well after 5 PM. My transit app told me it was quicker to walk (it didn’t want me to use the bus for some reason). I was fine with walking as it gave me a better opportunity to explore the city above ground.
I took a couple of pictures along the waterfront as a short detour (only a small block) on the way.
Seaport Blvd had some interesting animal sculptures, including a Squirrel!

I crossed a bridge and found an interesting swing bridge (currently out of service and in disrepair).
I walked along a skinny park area that was on top of an underground highway. I took a couple of pictures of what used to be the Customs House and is now apparently a hotel and what used to be the Grain Exchange.

I arrived at Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall. They reminded me of Seattle’s Public Market with small shops and restaurants.

It was now time to forage for food. I took some pictures along the way with the Old State House, BNY Mellon building (tall black building) and a park called Post Office Square.

Before reaching the restaurant I walked by the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum. It was just during the magic hour as I was walking by and it was quite scenic.

There was a street chalk art event going on today.

Eventually I arrived at the restaurant. It would be a while before the table would be ready, but I found a place at the bar to try a different beer and have a snack before dinner. For the appetizer I had the biscuit with honey and rosemary butter. For dinner I had my very first lobstah (lobster) roll. All the food was great, especially the lobstah roll.

After dinner it was a short walk back to the hotel. Despite purchasing the 7 day metro pass I didn’t use it at all.
