I woke up in the morning and I realized there was a lot of light leaking from my balcony window because I pulled the curtain too far to shut it and it opened on the other side. By the time I was out and ready to eat I had two choices – the Italian restaurant (Cucina del Capitano) for breakfast, or brunch (there were several more options). I decided to try the Cucina del Capitano this morning.
I made myself a breakfast sandwich with a toasted bagel (so nice not having to wait for the toaster – you know how it is everywhere), butter, scrambled eggs (which looked like a scoop of yellow ice cream, but was good) and bacon. It was pretty good. I washed it down with a glass of apple juice.
I managed to snag a free mimosa from the Jewelry store (they give that away to draw people in and lubricate their wallets) before going to the morning show (Wave) which was at Grand Central again. It was okay, but nothing spectacular – however the important information was that it was “lobster night”. Usually one night on a Caribbean cruise lobster is included with the dinner… and if you want more than one they will give it to you.

I went back to deck 16 aft to swim in the infinity pool and also enjoy the hot tub. It isn’t that hot outside. Eventually I decided to eat something so I would be hungry at 8:15pm. I went back to the room and the stateroom attendant had already cleaned the room and provided a cute towel animal – a lobster.

I heard great things about Shaq’s big chicken, so I decided to eat there for lunch. Well technically I chose something off the breakfast menu – chicken and biscuit with honey. It was delicious and it came with these thin steak fries which were amazing. I’ve never seen anything like that before. I also grabbed a small portion of potato salad and it was also very good. Definitely highly recommended.
delicious!
I took a couple more photos of the infinity pool at the back after eating my chicken and biscuit.
I spent a little more time relaxing and then went to the water park. I went down the orange slide a couple of times – the floor drops out from under you, so it’s a pretty good rush. Both the Bolt rollercoaster and the ropes course were closed due to high winds. hopefully I will be able to take advantage to ride the Bolt sometime this cruise. It’s $15 for a single lap, but it’s one of those YOLO things.
I popped back into the cabin a bit for some administrative things (this blog) and to go to one of the “ironing rooms” to iron a couple shirts since it was “elegant night”.

After taking a shower I got dressed for elegant night and went to a PG comedy show with June Jones. It was pretty good, luckily I sat in the back because there was a lot of interaction with the crowd.
Immediately after the show there was another comedy show, but R rated with another comedian.
I attended the traditional champagne toast with the Captain, however they didn’t pass out any free champagne.
I had a few minutes before dinner started so I wandered a bit and found the Havana Cabana area and Havana bar. I really liked the decor of the Havana Bar.
I went to the main dining room again tonight as they had crème brulee on the menu. All the options had lobster included with dinner tonight.
I tried the meatball soup, but it wasn’t that good. For my main I ordered a lobster tail and spaghetti carbonara. Both were acceptable, but not spectacular. Of course for dessert I had crème brulee.

After dinner I wandered a bit and listened to some of the music. I got a picture of the folks in the Carnival Kitchen who were eating at the Chef’s table.

I also watched the wait staff in the Flamingo restaurant sing and dance.

Before calling it a night I needed a snack, so I got a couple of slices of pizza to take to my room so I could enjoy it with a can of Pepsi I brought with me.
