This morning the Scarlet Lady arrived at Bimini in the Bahamas. The water was a beautiful color blue and unfortunately the ship was backed in, so I was unable to get a nice photo of the front of the ship.

There is a free tram to take sailors to the ‘Beach Club”, but as I needed to lose some weight I decided to walk and explore a little. Honestly it really wasn’t worth the walk, just an empty marina, a quiet hotel and a bunch of houses which didn’t appear to be too spectacular. Eventually I arrived at the beach club.

Here’s the very expensive cabanas (I think they were $350 for the day) and you got 4 cans of alcoholic beverages. Not really worth it.

There were a lot of nice hammocks available to use.

There were a few artistic metal fire pits. Apparently this is what they would use for the “bonfire”. Not a real open fire, but I guess they can’t trust drunk millennials who want to take a selfie in front of the fire not to fall in the fire.

There were two swings in the ocean, but one was already broken…. You would have thought they would fix it before the ship arrived, or at least made an attempt to fix it that day.

I took a couple of pictures and a video of the ship from the beach.

I booked the Wake for brunch on the ship, but I decided to try some of the lunch offered at the beach club. I tried the pulled pork and the rum cake. The pork was good even though it was cold and the rum cake had plenty of rum. Next time just tons of rum cake and there I won’t need to buy any alcohol.

I took one picture of the nice swimming pool, although I would prefer to swim in the ocean.

I walked back to the ship to have brunch at the Wake. Unfortunately it was not as good as the last night as the beef was cooked well done and they don’t have baked Alaska for dessert during brunch.

I was in no hurry to go back to the beach club. In fact I got myself a glass of wine and relaxed in the hot tub on the back of the ship and enjoyed the view of the island.

I recorded some video of the ship, here’s a video of the jogging track.
Eventually I did take the tram to the beach club. I had some pork ribs (also cold) and enjoyed the sunset from the ocean. The bonfire as I expected was lackluster and pretty much everyone decided to evacuate as soon as they saw how pitiful the fire pits were.. I took a couple of pictures of the pool with their lights.

Here’s a short video clip of the bonfire:
As there was a crowd waiting for the tram I decided to talk back to the ship. This was a mistake as the tram did get people back quicker and I was stuck waiting in a line to get back onto the ship. I still got back in time for dinner.
Tonight I booked “Extra Virgin”, the Italian restaurant. I heard the mini meatballs were good, but I wasn’t impressed. I tried the mini meatballs, the meat and cheese platter, beef carpaccio, potato gnocchi, bucatini carbonara, and braised pork cheeks. I was very disappointed in the carbonara, but I was also just in Italy a few weeks ago.

Tomorrow is the last day, so it was now time to pack my bag and set it out so they will have it out in the terminal tomorrow morning.
