This morning I bought tickets to the Reina Sofia art museum. I expected it to take several hours and so I decided to buy a ticket rather than go during the free hours.

I started my day at the Naval Museum. It is supposed to be free (3 Euro voluntary contribution), but they were not shy asking for the contribution. This museum was worth the 3 Euros. They had models of the 3 ships the lost Spaniard sailed with (Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria).

The also had models of the Spanish Galleons and the Ship of the Line (which were called that because of the fact they fought in a line). Definitely worth a visit.
From there I walked to the Reina Sofia museum.

This museum was the biggest waste of my time of the entire trip. The museum itself is very large, but with very few items of interest. In fact there was quite a bit of space dedicated to indoctrinating visitors with their beliefs. The main piece to see is on the second floor, a work of art by Pablo Picasso for the World Expo called Guernica. There were also a few pieces of art by Miro and Dali that were of interest, but at the end of the day I felt like I would have been happier paying the same price just to see those pieces and not have to spend 5+ hours inside the museum looking at uninteresting things they used to fill the huge building.

I went back to my new favorite restaurant – the Museo del Jamon for a beer and more ham.

I went back up to the rooftop pool on top of the hotel to enjoy another sunset.

Tonight’s sunset was much more spectacular.

I wandered around Madrid for a while and took some pictures.

I skipped dinner and had some Churros instead.
