I had an early afternoon flight from Houston to Long Beach, California on Southwest Airlines today. The drive to the parking lot was uneventful.
When I went to drop off my bag it was 57 lbs, about 7 lbs too much (probably the wine bottles). Luckily I had packed a duffel bag and stuffed my clothes in it, and Southwest allows two bags for free.
Security was easy with Clear and TSA Pre-Check. I probably got to the airport too early, but I was able to open my laptop and get some work done.

Boarding with Southwest is pretty easy, just wait in the queue based on the time you checked in. No craziness like in Frankfurt.
I managed to get an exit row seat, but I don’t think I really got much extra legroom. I did manage to get a quick nap in on the plane I think.

When I landed in Long Beach the airport was mostly open-air and very small. It took a while for the bags to arrive.

I ordered a Lyft (Uber was significantly more money) to get to the hotel in Anaheim.
I booked myself in the Anaheim Marriott which was within “walking distance” of Disneyland.
I checked out the room and took some pictures. I was appalled that the balcony was shared with a room (not a connecting room). There was not any kind of barrier between the rooms on the balcony – I made sure to keep my curtains closed on my sliding glass doors. Not acceptable at all.

I went to the lounge for some appetizers (dinner). They had coconut prawns (shrimp) and some chicken satay. It was enough to satisfy me for a while.

I walked to Downtown Disney as I thought I needed to pick up my ticket, but looking at the PDF it said there was no need to pick up a ticket. I asked a cast member a few questions and they showed me where the ticket was in the app.

I grabbed a $1 French Fry from McDonalds which was nearby, because why not and walked back to the hotel.
I snagged a dessert in the lounge at the hotel before going back to the room and preparing for tomorrow by charging all the batteries I didn’t charge before leaving home.
