I woke up this morning and checked the rendered video from yesterday’s departure from Long Beach. Some of the transitions didn’t look good, so I had to edit and re-render. Once I was happy with it I attempted to upload it to YouTube, but the upload speed seems really slow.
I left my phone in the room while the video was attempting to upload and went to Serenity to relax a bit in one of the hot tubs. The weather was a bit overcast, but a nice temperature to enjoy relaxing in the hot tub.
About noon I went directly from the hot tub to Guy’s Pig & Anchor smokehouse for some BBQ. I tried more or less everything except for the slaw. Smoked Andouille sausage, smoked beef, pulled pork butt, potato salad, mac and cheese and beans. I used both the Carolina sauce (for the pork) and the Sriracha sauce for the beef. All the meat was nice and tender, and the sauce was really good. Highly recommended – only free on sea days during lunch.
After lunch I grabbed the laptop and worked for hours out on the Lanai on deck 5 for a nice view of the ocean while I caught up with things, including this blog.

Today’s towel animal:

I went to the Captain’s Welcome. They introduced all the officers.

I also went to the see the comedian at the Limelight Lounge.

Tonight was the first formal night, which also means better food at dinner.

I had the meatball soup for my starter and prime rib with a lobster tail for my main course.

For dessert I had the vanilla creme brulee

I checked on the production show, but I skipped it as I already saw that show on the Mardi Gras last year.
I did go to the late comedy show.
