This morning the ship arrived in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It was a bit overcast and dreary.

I attempted to record the arrival, however the GoPro mysteriously shut off during the first video. I got some footage arriving.
I got some bacon from the buffet and got a breakfast burrito (I had them use the bacon) from Blue Iguana Cantina.

I took a few more photos before getting off the ship.

My quest today was to hike up to an observation platform, Mirador el Cerro de la Cruz to get a nice view of the whole city of Puerto Vallarta.
Once off the ship the cruise terminal resembles the gift shop at the end of a ride at a theme park. They apparently don’t want you to have to walk far to spend your money.
Uber is only about $5 each way to Malecon, but I decided to walk the 3.5 miles each way to get some exercise since today was not time limited (12 hours in port).

I could see the observation platform from here.

I walked along the Malecon and took some pictures of the sculptures.

There were some performers swinging upside down from a tall pole along the beach which was interesting.

I walked to the church Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. It had a very artistic crown on top of the building. The inside was not overly decorated, but I took a couple of pictures.

From here I started the trek up to the observation point. The first bit was with a ramp and then I arrived at the non-functioning cable car. From this point stairs were the only option.

At the top there is a platform that requires even more stairs, but it has a great view of Puerto Vallarta and the ocean. I recorded a time lapse video showing the entire city of Puerto Vallarta.

After enjoying the view I walked back down and stopped in a few souvenir shops, but didn’t buy anything.

I walked back to the ship as there really wasn’t a rush to get back. I did manage to stop in a Pharmacy to get a pair of nail clippers which I apparently left at home.
After getting back on the ship I found a new towel animal on my bed, I think it is a crab.

I grabbed a quick bite and spent some time relaxing in the hot tub.

I had dinner in the main dining room. I had the pulled pork and meatballs for the appetizer. I forgot to take a picture of the beef tenderloin (you will have to use your imagination). For dessert I had the pineapple and some ice cream.

I went to the comedy shows and then the disco.
