I wasn’t too sure what today’s weather would bring. I expected it to be worse than yesterday.
Eventually I left the hotel when I decided the weather was going to be suitable for exploring.
I drove to Carrefour first as it was Sunday and stores close early on Sunday (like 1 PM) to get some food / breakfast. I actually arrived before they opened at 8 AM. I got some ham and a baguette.

Next I drove to the area where the President’s residence is. There is also a mural (Les Poilus Tahitiens) and a monument.

I decided that since the weather was behaving that I would drive to the 3 Cascades waterfalls. I packed my drone, camera, tripod, etc. with me for the trip.
The weather was so much better than yesterday, the water was now only falling at the 3 Cascades instead of everywhere.
Nearby the parking area there was a small section of bamboo.

I walked up to the first Cascade, it was a very short and easy hike and got so close to the base that you were quickly coated in mist.

It was very wet nearby the first cascade, Vaimahuta so I didn’t take a billion pictures. I continued onto the other two cascades. This required walking over a (very expensive looking) bridge.

I took a couple of pictures of the stream and the plants.

Here is a sign discussing the legend of the 3 Cascades.

After taking tons of photos and flying the drone briefly.

I continued on to the blowhole. The parking was a disaster and I eventually gave up and found parking on the other side of the tunnel and walked backwards through the park.

I did manage to get a good photo of the water vapor escaping the blowhole today, and a video.

On the way back to Papeete I stopped at Ta Pahi Point. It was a nice small park with a treee on top of a rock at a point.

I got back in Papeete in time to watch the Norwegian Spirit arrive just before sunset. I didn’t expect it to arrive until 8 PM, so it was a pleasant surprise so I could get some decent photos of it.

I talked to a current passenger (they stayed overnight in Moorea and took the ferry across) and found out that the area to check in was a nearby tent. I always like to know where I am going ahead of time so I don’t walk in circles. It was dark now, so other than the dinner at the US Embassy (the one with the golden arches) I decided to call it a night.
