Today is finally the day to board the cruise. I woke up and looked out the window to actually see blue skies and the mountain.

I drove to Motu Uta as the map said there was some kind of promenade there, but I only found an industrial port. On the bright side the view of Tahiti was great.

I walked around a bit in the morning, including the ferry terminal, harbor and the Cathedral.

I walked all the way to the Robert Wan Pearl Museum. It was an interesting and small museum, but it was also a pearl shop.

I walked back to the hotel where I left the car and drove to the graffiti wall. It was pretty impressive.

I also put the drone up for a couple of minutes.
I refilled the tank in the rental car and dropped it off at the airport. Yes the picture below says Terminal 1 – as if they have more than one terminal…

Lucky for me Hertz dropped me off at the cruise terminal and I didn’t need to get a taxi on top of the expensive rental car.
At the port I stopped by a place where they sold hand crafts and bought a hat.

Here is my electronic edoc and the original schedule. There has been significant changes as the second day in Moorea was cancelled (I don’t think the natives work on Sundays, it’s a French thing) and the arrival in Huahine was delayed a couple of hours as many passengers won’t be on the ship until midnight or later.

Check in was pretty simple, bags were dropped outside in a small tent and then port security checked our passports against the manifest. After that it was a quick check in inside the Taste restaurant on deck 6.
I took a few pictures of Tahiti from the sundeck.

I went up to get some lunch in the buffet. By the time I finished eating the cabins were ready.

I dropped my bag in my cabin and took some pictures of it. There are fish on the carpet, but they removed the red fish that swims towards the back. In case you are wondering the fish all swim towards the front of the ship.

Some of the documents in the cabin. The internet was not free.

And today’s Freestyle Daily (yes, paper copies still)

I walked around the ship a little (mostly outside). The view from deck 12 was spectacular. I took a few pictures and also set the GoPro up for a time lapse video.

I decided to try out the hot tub while enjoying the view. It for some reason vibrated, but it wasn’t too bad after a while.
I explored the ship some more and then had a light dinner at the Local. They had Prime Rib as the daily dinner special. I also had the pretzel bites.

I took a few photos at sunset.

At 8 PM they had a local dancing group onboard perform, It was pretty good.

At 9:30 they had what they called a muster drill, it was more of a fiasco. People were loud and talking through it, the announcements couldn’t be heard, most people left during it.
I went up to the buffet to get a snack – a couple of chicken wings, papadams, and some seafood gumbo.
I called it an early night as daylight comes early here, and most people weren’t even on the ship yet.
Today’s timeline:
