I had planned a full day today, but because the ship had so many people joining the ship late (like after midnight) yesterday the arrival was rescheduled from 8 AM to 10 AM. This caused my morning tour, Sacred Sites & Cultural Walk to be cancelled. I opted to cancel my 4×4 tour instead and rebook the cultural tour.

I woke up to get some breakfast and could see land – Huahine.

For breakfast I made myself a sandwich from eggs, bacon and an English muffin.

After getting some breakfast I returned to my cabin and found a new tour ticket for the rescheduled time, 9:45 AM as the ship arrived a bit earlier.

I watched the ship sail into the little bay in Huahine. It was a very narrow passage into the bay.

There is no cruise ship dock in Huahine, so we were using the life boats to tender to the shore.

After I found my tour guide I took a picture of the ship from shore.

I boarded “Le Truck” which is a flatbed truck converted into a bus with a couple of benches on each side.

Unfortunately the French Canadians pretend not to know any English at all, so the poor tour guide had to speak in both English and French which required a lot of time.
At the destination to visit the Marae I took some pictures. I can’t remember what the tour guide told us about the rocks.

There was bit of hiking up to the two maraes. The more important marae had a huge Banyan tree in the corner.

There was also a marae by the water as well as a small museum.

A banana tree and a new palm tree.

We continued driving up to where there are some fish traps that are still in use (built with rocks).

The final stop was at a little river (if you can call it a river) where there were some blue eels. Apparently they have been domesticated by the tour guides and tourists from feeding them (otherwise they wouldn’t come out from their hiding places on command).

A better picture of Le Truck.

I took some more photos on the way back to the ship.

When we got back I took some photos of the ship from the land before getting back on the tender back to the ship.

I had lunch at the Local – blue cheese and bacon hamburger. It wasn’t anywhere near as good as Guy’s burgers on Carnival, but I haven’t found many others that come close.

I had some chocolate covered strawberries in my cabin as well.

I went outside to enjoy the scenery and took a few more photos from the ship.

There was a very short Latitudes party at 5 PM. I managed to get two drinks before they shut it off.

I went back outside and managed to capture a rainbow. I stayed outside for the quick sailaway (it didn’t take long to leave the bay).

I had dinner at Cagney’s tonight. I tried a few new things – Lobster Bisque and the Black Tiger Shrimp Trio.

For my main I had the Filet Mignon with Maitre d’ Butter. The steak was nice and tender. I had onion rings and parmesean truffle fries for my sides.

For dessert I had raspberry crème brulée.

I was pretty wiped out so I called it an early evening. I skipped the show Blazing Boots as it was supposed to be both kinds of music – Country AND Western. In any case it was at the same time as when I had dinner and they only offered it once.
