Today the ship arrived in Bora Bora just before 7 AM. I got some cereal for breakfast and watched the sail into the lagoon of Bora Bora.

Shark & Stingray snorkel left at 8:30, tendered and was on the boat to the reef at 9:00

First stop was the reef out past one of the fancy resorts with the over the water bungalows

Reef was nice and water was very shallow. Lots of colorful blue and purple clams and a few fish.
The second stop was in the shallow water where the black tip sharks and stingrays were. The sharks got up close and personal. Apparently they don’t like the taste of hamburgers because none of them tried to eat any of the Americans in the water.

I quickly went back to the ship to use the bathroom and drop off the mask, snorkel and towel.

My next tour was the 4×4 tour of Bora Bora. The vehicle was a modified Land Cruiser.

First stop was up the mountain to all of the TV station antennas – station 1 and station 2.

The next stop was the public beach. The sand was beautiful and soft. The water was super clear.

I took a few photos while driving to the next stop.

Next stop was another overlook up the mountain overlooking the airport.

The next stop was up the mountain to a large military canon from WWII. There was a very small pillbox a little further up the mountain. The tour guides told us that the guns were installed by the US during WWII and Bora Bora was the first island in French Polynesia to have electricity because of it.

Final stop was an art gallery with a great sport to see the top of the mountain.

I stopped by the tourist information center and took pictures of the schedule of the Polynesian shows and the ferry schedule.

After arriving back in town I wandered around a little. There was an overpriced gift shops ($10 for a small magnet) and a bunch of black pearl shops.

I took a couple of pictures of the church near the port.

I took the tender back and had a snack at the buffet.

I waited for the magic hour. I took a few pictures of the mountain on Bora Bora before it turned dark.

I had a quick dinner in the buffet as I didn’t see anything too exciting on the main dinner menu.

I was exhausted, so I retired early to try and recover for tomorrow.
Today’s timeline: (not very accurate unfortunately)
