I woke up early this morning and the skies were dark.
I had some cereal in the buffet and enjoyed the fresh air.
I prepared for my excursion – Motu transfer and Beach Break. By the time I got to the meeting point the tour had been cancelled due to the rain.

I dropped off my snorkel & mask and had a little more breakfast. While I was sitting outside eating (under cover) the skies opened up and really began to rain.

Just because you don’t believe me that it was raining, here’s a video.
I spent some time relaxing in the Spinnaker Lounge which has a lot of windows (and I also found a power outlet).
Before going off the ship for my tour I had lunch at the Local. I had loaded nachos for a starter and Fish & Chips. The Fish & Chips were acceptable, but they were obviously not as good as the Fish & Chips I had in Dover earlier this year.

The weather started to look better.

I took the tender to the pier and it was nearly empty.

Here’s a hotel boat that takes you to the resort with the $1,000+ per night over the water bungalows.

Another picture of the ship from the pier.

Luckily my second excursion wasn’t cancelled. Aquasafari which is a helmet dive in fairly shallow water.

The Aqua Safari boat arrived at the pier. It obviously is only the transportation boat as it had no helmets or air.

We arrived at the actual dive boat now. Here’s what the dive helmets look lie, complete with lead. Some of the newer ones I have seen in the Caribbean are more like fishbowls

The aqua safari was a bit difficult at first. I had to equalize before I even got into the water because of the air pressure in the helmet. Once I equalized it was fine.
They had a small mesh bag with some bread in it and I was immediately attacked by tropical fish. Luckily I had my GoPro and got some great video, including some selfie action.

They also trained a stingray. It swam around us a few times.
They also gave me a piece of bread. I held it in my hand and the fish ate the bread from my hand. The way they eat is kind of like a bird pecking at food.
It was an interesting experience even though it was not very deep and it wasn’t possible to go too far. I do recommend it. I think I did have an easier time since I did have some diving experience. However I did need to be careful as if I tripped there was a possibility that the helmet would come off and I would need to surface for air.
On the ride back to the ship there was a very low rainbow. I never have seen a rainbow so low before. We didn’t get a chance to find the gold at either end however.

My laundry came back today. I managed to squeeze a lot into the little paper bag.

I took a couple more photos of the mountain and the ferry that goes between Tahiti and Bora Bora. Apparently the ferry only takes nine hours.

I had dinner tonight in the Silk Asian restaurant. I had pork pot stickers for my starter, that was the best part of my dinner. I also ordered combination fried rice and Char Siu with rice noodles. Neither of those really pleased me.

I did enjoy the coconut tapioca pudding with spiced mango.

I watched the show tonight. I couldn’t figure out how the illusionist manages to disappear and reappear. I always need to try and figure out how everything works, so yes I was a bit frustrated as well as impressed.
Because dinner wasn’t very satisfying I had a late snack at the Local. I tried the Asian chicken wings and pretzel bites.
