I woke up this morning around 4:30 AM and noticed it was fairly bright outside. I kept thinking my watch was wrong, I eventually woke up around 6 AM and left the Bed & Breakfast at 7 AM.
I walked along the shore and out on the pier to take pictures of Dover with the castle on top of the hill. I waited there for a while until the sun moved so less of the castle would be in the shadows.
I was very close to the ship, but with the layout of the port it was a long walk to get there.

I walked back to the Bed & Breakfast, wandering about the city. I eventually found the museum that opened at 10 AM. It is free and has a large iron age boat that was discovered nearby. It wasn’t open yet, but I was planning to come back when it was.

I finished packing up my things at the Bed & Breakfast and left to go to the museum shortly before 10 AM. The museum was nice and the boat was much larger than expected.

I also stopped at Poundland to buy a HDMI cable in hopes I could connect it to the TV in the room to be able to use my laptop.
I made it back to the Bed & Breakfast in time to carry my luggage out back for the lift to the port.

I didn’t realize how long a walk it was. There was an old train station before the ship that was apparently in use when the trains used ferries to cross the channel.
I got to the port right at 11:30 – my check in window. The process was pretty quick. Security, and getting my passport scanned and I was on the ship before I knew it. So much better than when I was waiting to board the Mardi Gras (but of course that was before the VeriFly app for vaccination cards and testing).

They told us that the rooms would be ready at 1:30 PM. I headed to the muster area to complete my safety drill requirement and then immediately went to find Guy’s Burger Joint.

I got a Pig Patty and fries. It was good, but not as good as on the Mardi Gras.
I wandered around the open decks for a while to find a location for my GoPro.

At 1:30 I went to my room and found it was on the correct side for the time lapse video, so I unpacked and set up my tripod and GoPro on my balcony.

I also got some pork tacos a little later in the afternoon.

I continued to explore the ship until dinner.

The ship finally left the port. Unfortunately the ship went south instead of north, so my time lapse video shows France in the distance as opposed to the white cliffs.

I ate in the main dining room and for some reason I was assigned a table by myself. Dinner was good and quick. I had the braised beef brisket for the main and a quesadilla for the starter, although there wasn’t much queso to be found.

I skipped dessert for now.
I got a few sunset photos outside.

I played the slot machines for a little while, and I was actually up a few dollars.
I went to the welcome aboard show, which started out a bit slow, but eventually when the performers came on the stage it was very good.

I went to see the late night comedy show and it was okay, but not anything too good.

I checked out the disco and it was pretty quiet.
I waited for some pizza at Pizza Pirate, not because I was hungry, but because I wanted to taste the Pizza. The pizza was actually pretty good.
