A very early start this morning. The meeting time for my tour was at 6:30 AM.

I turned on the time lapse from my balcony at 6:00 AM, but the ship was already more or less in position.
I went up to the Lido deck to take some pictures of the other side. The view was spectacular. There was a waterfall at the front of the ship and a beautiful mountain on the starboard side.

I snagged a large bowl of Lucky Charms for breakfast, went back to the room to grab my things (and turn off the time lapse). I headed down to the theater and almost forgot my jacket. Luckily I saw someone with a jacket, turned around and got it.
I had to wait about 45 minutes before they called my tour group, but it was much less stressful than getting a tender ticket and waiting to get ashore. When the tender arrived at shore it was about 7:30 AM.

The tour I chose was called The Best of Snaefellsnes Peninsula.
It was quite a drive to the first stop, but it was very scenic.

The first stop the bus took was at a beach where there was a shipwreck and some really neat lava rocks heading to the beach. I got a few nice photos from the viewpoint and walked down around the large rocks.

The second stop was the Malarrif Lighthouse. In addition to the lighthouse there was also two tall rock formations I walked over to get a photo of.

The next stop was Hellnar view point. This was a nice small harbor with rocky cliffs.

The next stop was one of my favorites. It was along the shore and had basalt rocks that reminded me of the Giants’ Causeway. The bus let us out at Arnarstapi Harbour and picked us back up near the Bárður Saga Snæfellsás statue.

There was also a large rock sea arch that was quite beautiful.

And finally there was the Bárður Saga Snæfellsás statue built from stone.

A lot of driving back to civilization for lunch….

The next stop was the Fosshotel for lunch. They provided cauliflower soup, and fish. The fish was very light.

The next stop was an interesting church next to the hotel, and it had a nice view of an area that had some piers without water (I assume it was low tide).

The penultimate stop was a really neat area with a tall rocky island. We didn’t have time to climb it, but I did get some nice photos of it and of the surrounding area. I found out on Google Maps it was called Súgandisey Cliff.

The final stop was a hill seemingly in the middle of nowhere, apparently called Helgafell. There was a church at the base. It did take some effort to get to the top, but the view was wonderful.

I managed to get a couple of decent photos of the ship from the bus.

The bus dropped us back off at the pier at 3:00 PM which was just a few minutes before the last scheduled tender at 3:15 PM.

I set up my GoPro on deck 3 for a time lapse video and then went to Guy’s burger joint. The fish lunch was good, but I burned too many calories to survive until 8:15 PM for dinner. I got yet another Funderstruck Nacho Burger. I also figured out it was like a 5 layer nacho…. beans, nacho cheese, jalepenos, beef, and cheese…. It was still delicious.

I went up to deck 11 to take some more pictures. There were a lot of jellyfish in the water, including one very large jellyfish. Eventually the ship left (it left maybe at 4:30 PM) and I got some more photos as we left an amazing little town.

Today’s towel animal:

I had dinner in the main dining room tonight. I had a Ceasar salad, roast turkey and ice cream.

Land was pretty distant, but it was daylight well past midnight. I took some more photos from the ship.

The ship was in or about to enter the arctic circle.

Today’s timeline:

The green mountain there near where the ship was docked was the mountain in Game of Thrones where it was called “arrow head”
