This morning I woke up and took a picture of the map on the TV screen showing where the ship went on the first cruise.

I got specific instructions as I am continuing my journey as opposed to most people who are disembarking.

I went to guest services and got my new keycard. They set it up so I didn’t even need to leave the ship if I didn’t want to.
The ship had a little information posted about Seward.

I finished packing before 8:00 AM and had some breakfast. I wasn’t in a real rush because the ship would be there for a long time today and the weather was bad. I know there are beautiful mountains surrounding Seward, but all I could see was clouds.

Around 11 AM the weather still wasn’t much better, but I dropped my hand luggage off at the Bliss Lounge and decided to go ashore. There is a free shuttle to town from the cruise terminal. From the look of the setup at the cruise terminal they expect it to rain all the time.

I took this picture of a mural inside the cruise terminal.

The free shuttle was like a small public bus. It stopped pretty much everywhere in town, even picking up passengers with luggage. The first stop was the train depot. I eventually got off at stop number 9 or 10 towards the end of town. I wandered around a little bit and took some photos of the buildings in town.

I walked back along the shore… not that I could see anything.

I stopped in the Kenai Fjords National Park Visitor Center. It was pretty small.

Across the street was a building with a nice mural on it. There were many buildings with murals. I suppose if you had to live in a cloud or in the dark you need something to cheer you up.

It started raining harder now. I was getting closer as I passed by the Alaska train depot.

In case there is any confusion about who owns the cruise terminal in Seward…. it’s the railroad.

The baggage drop off area is on the side in a shed made from what appears to be old intermodal shipping containers.

Back on the ship I decided to have lunch at O’Sheehans. Fish & Chips and Chicken Wings.

They made the announcement about 2:30 PM the cabins were ready and I got my hand luggage and went to my room. Very similar to last week’s rom except without the side pullman bed and it was opposite.

And I got new vouchers for dinner and laundry.

The weather was still bad in the afternoon. I just stayed on the ship.

I went to Teppanyaki tonight for dinner. I haven’t been to it before and I felt like a change. It was entertaining despite the fact that it isn’t authentic.
