It was most definitely the longest day at a technical conference. The program went from 8 AM to 7 PM. Our reward was a 90 minute visit to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. It certainly brought back memories. They had Geoff Bodine’s car from 1984 (first Winston Cup win for Rick Hendrick as an owner) who is from my hometown. They had one of Richie Evans’ modifieds (he also raced in the area I grew up in, sadly the track that I used to go to is now a gravel pit). They had a video clip from the 2010 Daytona 500 I went to. They also had one of Davey Allison’s cars.
