I woke up early to get to Animal Kingdom before the park opened. The confirmation number I got from Disney did not allow me to request fast passes or link my ticket to my magic band before arriving at the park.
I rode the tram although I was parked close to the park entrance.
I picked up my ticket (1 day park hopper plus) at the gate, linked it to my magic band and immediately went to Pandora – the land of Avatar.
I found the end of the queue for the Avatar Flight of Passage ride which already had a waiting time of 60 minutes.
While I was waiting in line I picked some fast passes – 1 for the other Avatar ride – Na’vi River Journey. That was the only ride I used a fast pass for. The lines in the offseason were very short (like 10-15 minutes, so I kept modifying my fast passes throughout the day.
Pandora was very impressive. And the Avatar flight simulator was great. I actually got to ride both rides by 9:37 by skipping ahead of a lot of people by going into the single rider lane for the Flight of Passage ride and my fast pass. (story continues after all the pictures of Pandora)
After exploring all of Disney’s Animal Kingdom (including taking the train to Rafiki’s Planet Watch) I took the bus to the Magic Kingdom (I needed a picture of Cinderella Castle). It’s decorated for Halloween because Disney is doing special Halloween events. (story continues below)
Once inside the Magic Kingdom I went to Space Mountain. I was lucky enough to get a seat in the front row – Not that anyone can see in the dark anyways, but it was more amusing when you don’t know where the roller coaster is going.
I walked a bit more around the Magic Kingdom before going to the Monorail to Epcot… (Story continues after the Magic Kingdom photos)
So…. the Monorail was down when I left the Magic Kingdom, so I needed to take the ferry over to the Ticket and Transportation Center and then took a bus to EPCOT.
And it’s Disney’s Food and Wine Festival
First stop (literally) was for Poutine at the Refreshment Port. Technically this is on the menu year-round, but they also had versions with brisket that were only available during the Food and Wine Festival.
Berbere Beef Tenderloin Tips and Pup (from the Africa booth)
Menu of all the special locations.
