A full day exploring Marid. An Egyptian temple, bullfighting ring and more.
Madrid – Day 3
My second day in Madrid. I started by visiting the Royal Palace. I also visited the Royal Botanical Gardens and re-visited the Prado Museum to see what I missed yesterday. I finished the day with a dip in the pool with the sunset and dinner in Plaza Mayor.

Madrid – Day 1
First day in Madrid. Despite only being half a day, it was full of adventure. I visited one church and one museum (two museums if you count the Museo del Jamon!)

2021 Royal Caribbean International’s Odyssey of the Seas Inaugural Cruise – Day 3 [Disembarkation]
Time to leave this beautiful new ship. I had a quick snack at breakfast and took a few last minute photos. Unlike the Carnival Mardi Gras the pool chairs were not overrun by towel critters. I took the free shuttle bus to the Miami airport and flew back to Houston on Southwest Airlines.
2021 Royal Caribbean International’s Odyssey of the Seas Inaugural Cruise – Day 2 [Perfect Day at Cococay, Bahamas]
A beautiful day in the Bahamas. I started the day with a Q&A session for travel agents. I took the opportunity to play with the bumper cars before visiting the waterpark at Thrill Island. I tested out all the waterslides, including North America’s tallest waterslide – Daredevils’ Peak. I explored all of what the island had to offer and then came back to the ship for a couple of shows and dinner. The night ended with a silent party.
2021 Royal Caribbean International’s Odyssey of the Seas Inaugural Cruise – Day 1 [Flight, Embarkation, Naming Ceremony]
A very busy day. It started with a flight from Houston to Fort Lauderdale. Once onboard the Odyssey of the Seas I enjoyed a delicious surf and turf lunch, explored a large variety of cabins and watched the naming ceremony. After the naming ceremony I enjoyed two high tech live shows and another fabulous dinner (surf and turf again).

Queens, Rockefeller Center, New York Public Library and my flight back to Houston

The last full day in New York City. I visited the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the 9/11 Memorial Museum.

A trip on the Staten Island Ferry and a bit of exploration of the World Trade Center memorial, Chinatown, Little Italy and Broadway.

A full day in New York City. Today I visited St Patrick’s Cathedral, Central Park, the Guggenheim museum, Roosevelt Island and Grand Central Terminal.
2021 New York City – Day 1
First day of a long weekend trip to New York City. The day started early in the morning with a direct flight to Newark, NJ. I used the nice weather as an opportunity to explore some of the outdoor spaces in NYC – the High Line, the Vessel, Brooklyn Bridge and Times Square.

A day at the beach in the Bahamas. I spent the day relaxing on the Scarlet Lady and the Beach Club at Bimini.

Another relaxing sea day. Dinner at the steakhouse. And an interesting Scarlet Night.
2021 Virgin Voyages Cruise – Day 4 [Day 3 of Cruise – Costa Maya, Mexico]
The first port visit – Costa Maya, Mexico. I took advantage of the stop to visit some Mayan ruins at Chacchoben. I had dinner at the Korean BBQ restaurant onboard and played Dodgeball.
2021 Virgin Voyages Cruise – Day 3 [Day 2 of Cruise – Sea Day]
The first full day on the Scarlet Lady. Rockstar for a few minutes (toured Rockstar Suites), and dinner at the Mexican restaurant.
